Sweet delicious justice, the Legislature voted to Impeach convicted former Governor Ella Bright-Starr, barring her from any future return to public office. We decided to can this momentous occasion for your enjoyment, lets take a look back at her 'term' or should we say, brief stint as Governor;
A False Start?
In a Shout News poll published back on the 22nd May, despite a promising 60% lead, only 30% of her supporters actually endorsed her policy platform, hinting at a letter of two evils vs an overwhelming level of love and support for her plans. A further 39% were unsure, a sign of former Gov Bright-Starr's failure to communicate with the public or a lack of vision from her campaign. When it came to who predominately made up her support base, it seems she wasn't very popular with those who are politically active, police officers, lawyers and other types of government employees.
Approval Rating Nose Dive
Starting her term with an approval rating of 33.3%, she quickly tanked to a 8.9% after being arrested, finishing up with a disastrous 2.10% on the day she was convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. It seems former Gov Bright-Starr succeeded in one of her aims for the state in unifying the public, however I doubt she'd have imagined it'd been in unifying them by their disapproval of her failed leadership!
Record Breaker
Being the first sitting Governor arrested on a felony, she now also holds the record for the first sitting Governor to be found guilty of a felony as well! Initially being charged with two lots of the following, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated false imprisonment and uttering threats. But the corker is who these acts were against, not a self righteous act of defiance against those harming the state... a flagrant assault on our judiciary against Chief Justice Kylian Clarkson and Associate Justice Doc Hilliard. In fairness to former Gov Bright-Starr, this truly was her crowning achievement, securing her fate in the states history, for all the wrong reasons.
Failed 4th of July Festival
I'm sure we all remember the 4th of July festival, down on Vespucci beach in one way or another, be it from turning up as I had to a large state prominently overhanging the shoreline, filled with an empty stage and a dozen food trucks. Or perhaps the storm of outrage on Yeet and in the streets from the general public. From performers refusing to go on stage due to lack of payment leading to the event being postponed and ultimately cancelled.
Calls to Resign
The absolute legend and statistical wizard over at Shout News; Harry Kennedy, published one of his famous Politipolls on the 8th July, showing that in every category they polled (Bright-Starr voters, Cavanagh Voters and those that didn't vote) they all agreed on one thing, former Gov Bright-Starrs time was up with a total of 74.7% agreeing that she should resign. This failure of leadership rubbed off on the Legislature, with her members of the Feline party fleeing the scene in a raft of resignations prompting a special election, taking the 10th Congress satisfaction measure from it's initial 4.78% cutting it by over half to 2.35%.

After being convicted and the Legislature filling to impeach the former Governor and public outcry yet again on Yeet, she finally called curtain and resigned. Ending what is an easily defined 'short' term as Governor... a colossal cluster fuck!
Impeachment
And for todays news, she's finally been Impeached! But what the hell does that even mean? She's already been found guilty and sent to prison, what on earth does that bloody do? With her Impeachment, we truly have seen the last of former Gov Bright-Starr's political career, now barred from standing for and/or ever holding public office in any capacity ever again. We can all sleep sounder at night, without worry of her return and brainwashing from her feline friends brainwashing us into giving her a second go round the dumpster fire of her administration.
