Corruption in the Government: Two weeks later

Two weeks ago, we posted an article that revolved around Police brutality and corruption in the government. Even Governor Damien Key issued a government press release in regards to that protest, which Stella Day made an article that goes into more detail about the it on Weazel News. Many lives are affected by corruption from the government, and it’s not just the criminals, but civilians too, so we’d like to shed some more light on this sad but true topic once more.
San Andreas is home to many walks of life from both sides of the law. Gangs, Motorcycle clubs, Mafias and all types of groups gather in this state that we all call home. But with criminal groups, how do you identify them? Most would think that gangs typically wear the same colors, drive erratically, tend to push people around, can be aggressive and act like everything they say goes.

I just described what many believe to be your average Police Officer. People who think they are above the law just because they “enforce” it. One good example would be State Trooper [REDACTED]* (Not the Officer above). [REDACTED] is marvelously known as an overly aggressive cop, with several instances of him taking aim with his beloved shotgun at people that are unarmed. He has been caught doing corrupt acts, with one recorded just two days ago when he attempted to aggravate a local in their vehicle by driving into their car just to get them to run over a suspect. He’ll stop at nothing just to get the suspect he’s chasing, even if he crosses every line. There are countless Officers in PD that are just like [REDACTED].
The longer you’re a cop, the better friends you become with high command, and the better friends you are with them, the more violations they will overlook for you. We’ve all seen it time and time again where Officers get off Scott free after doing horrendous acts. Not every Officer is bad, and not the entire department either. The issue is, if you’re a good Officer, you don’t stand out too much since this is how you’re supposed to act as an Officer of the Law. However, many “bad” Officers tend to stick out more and are talked about more since this is something that shouldn’t be talked about.
With the topic of corruption in mind, a few days ago on November 1st, Daniel McFall’s vehicle was pulled out of his garage and searched without his consent. According to his account, he was across the street watching the situation all while his car was forcibly pulled out of his garage and ransacked by police Officers. He was not approached with a search warrant nor did they ask for his consent in the search, violating many citizen rights in the process if they did in fact not have a warrant. We would also like to remind everyone about Section 3 of the Constitution of the State of San Andreas, as it reads:
The Right of the People to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
While this investigation is underway, there is only so much we are able to cover here at Useless News, as the many senior Officers we asked to speak about the situation refused to make a comment. Daniel McFall, however, did make a comment on the matter:
“If they think I’m stupid enough to put sh*t in my car that’s registered to me then they must think I’m born yesterday”-Daniel McFall’s quote on his illegal raid.
Onto another subject involving Police corruption, Violet Motacilla brought to attention her experience with an unnamed police Officer VIA Yeeter. According to her messages, an Officer pulled her over and gave her a traffic ticket. Sometime after this situation, she requested a gun license from the same Officer, which is within her 2nd amendment rights. The Officer denied her, saying “I’m not going to give a gun license to someone I just pulled over.” followed by a snarky, unprofessional remark.

So even after nearly 2 weeks from the first protest, nothing has changed within the police departments. They continue to violate citizens rights, both normal civilian and gang member alike. All but one department has seemingly failed us so far: The San Andreas Park Rangers. Charlie Morgan, head of SAPD, gave us an image of his recent announcement for the rangers, which we will show both the image for authenticity as well as a text transcript for those that are on our mobile app.

“@SAPD Dear all,
Please let this serve as a remind to you that I, as the Head of this Department, take our Code of Conduct very seriously and I expect every member of this Department to as well.
This code can be found in our SOPs and is as follows:
Integrity: We will uphold the Peace Officer’s Code of Ethics and do what is right.
Respect: We treat everyone without bias, favoritism, or prejudice.
Honesty: We do not cheat, lie, or steal, nor tolerate it among us.
Courage: We have moral courage, and do what is right even if the personal cost is high.
Teamwork: We respect the individual opinion while working toward a common goal.
Accountability: We take ownership in what we do, and do the job right.
All of you, when you are sworn in, agree to hold ourselves and other accountable for our actions, to never betray the public trust, and to always uphold the community and the agency.
In order to uphold the standards we set for you all, we need to keep each other in check. If the colleague next to you does something wrong, it is your duty to report it. We are educators and our goal is to educate, not just the public, but ourselves. That starts by holding each other, and ourselves, accountable.”

When we spoke to Charlie Morgan, we told him how many people in the city love the Rangers as they are known to treat everyone with respect and as a human being, even the worst of criminals. Mr. Morgan (would you prefer Officer Morgan?) was glad to know that, however, he said that it felt odd. He explained the reason it felt off is that he and all the Rangers abide by their Code of Conduct and SOPs, as should all Peace Officers. There should be no department known to treat people better than others since all departments should already do so. All these aggressive Police Officers should take a page out of the Rangers’ book. Looking at you, Ram Castro.
*Please note: while I would love to spill my heart out and name Officers who have been known to be aggressive, I cannot name them without repercussions from lawsuits. This is the reason why news companies love the word “alleged.” Another note: Dee Smith wants everyone to know that she will never shoot a ranger.
