Last night, major groups from all parts of San Andreas came together to discuss a serious issue concerning the biggest gang in the city: The Law Enforcement of San Andreas.
Members of street gangs, motorcycle clubs, mafias and groups of all types gathered to share their side of this topic. Groups at war called cease fires to peacefully speak on the matter and share input.
The main topic being that Law Enforcement have ramped up their aggression these past few months, with more and more cases of unarmed civilians being shot without reason. One of the most known cases of a civilian being shot by PD would be Violet Motacilla’s case, one we covered in the past. But many cases similar to this happen all the time which the media doesn’t cover. Cases that don’t make it to public court dockets. Just yesterday, an individual (which will remain unnamed) was shot and injured by Police Officers while they were already handcuffed. Reason? Because of the colours they wore.
People beat down in the cells, tased while cuffed, tackled into oncoming cars, the list goes on. The Police don’t care whether or not someone is injured as long as they catch their suspect. They’ll drive on sidewalks under the excuse of having their lights and sirens on, hitting pedestrians or other vehicles while chasing suspects. Blaming the driver they just got done ramming for not moving out of their way quick enough, even if it wasn’t their fault. Insulting, arguing, yelling and lacking professionalism.
These are just a few points brought up during this large scale meeting. The most important point is that everyone is human, and should be treated as such. Time and time again the LEOs of San Andreas treat people as if they are lower than them, both criminals and civilians. Police Officers’ entire purpose is to protect and serve, yet they don’t even care about the lives of hostages. Many criminals ask basic demands for the hostage’s safety, just for PD to go against agreements only a few minutes into a chase. This has lead to many hostages falling victim to criminals since the Police failed to keep the agreement.
The demands for change at this protest was simple: Treat everyone as humans, criminal or non criminal. Everyone has rights. Care for the civilians, especially in hostage situations. Remember that everyone is innocent until proven guilty, so just because someone wears a certain color does not justify probable cause. Punish the corrupt officers who believe themselves above the law. Pit vehicles to disable the vehicle, not the people inside. These are only a few points that were brought up during this meeting.
While yes, many can try to make the argument that criminals deserve to be treated as such, however they are still citizens of San Andreas and have all the same rights that a normal civilian do. Everyone falls under the penal codes and State Constitution, so it’s high time that everyone is treated equally.
Message from the author: Hello readers! I want to be completely honest with everyone, which is why I decided to include this bit. If you don’t know me, my name is Mak Calhoun. I am the owner of Useless News, but I am also one of the leaders of the Edgerunners, a criminal organization. I never planned to mix Useless News with the criminal side of my life, but I felt this story affects us all here in San Andreas. This is an ongoing situation and may change things for the better for all of us. Not just for the gangs of San Andreas, but for every citizen of the state. All of our groups banded together to try and bring about change in a legal way. We simply believe that everyone deserves to be treated like a human being, even criminals. So why have the police department been allowed to get away with whatever they want for so long? Why do they get to treat people like trash simply for the colors or kutte they wear? As a legal civilian, you have the right to demand change too. Demand change for the way that LEOs treat you, for the way they drive wherever they want, for how they get away with everything. Talk to legislation, state reps, even the governor if you can. Don’t let them pretend everything is okay when it’s not.
