As an avid plushie collector, I have possibly spent more then I care to share on them. I remember even a year ago they weren't this expensive. What happened? What is the plushie market coming to? Who's at fault for all of this?
Once upon a time we had high quality plushies coming into this city. They were cheap and made here in the state. You could by them and it wouldn't cost an arm and a leg. Today, they are made cheaply. I took an old plushie and checked the small tag on the bottom. The writing on it was big, clear enough for everyone to read, even your grandma. It would say it was made here in LS and 100% cotton and polyester fibres. They were stuffed with top quality materials. I checked one of the newest plushies and their tag looked different. The text on these ones were small, not too small for someone like me to read but, small. Like they were trying to hide the truth of what they are made from and where they are produced! It sad in tiny words, "made in China." They were made of cheap materials and smelled odd. Whatever they had in them, the smell gave me a headache. I've had to leave them in my car to air out a bit. (Very smelly, will not tell you where it came from) The worst part is that they cost almost as much as a bag of coke.
The tariffs put in place by the state government be part of the blame. There's been a rise in businesses releasing plushies and with the extra strain in Zimports, I can only think they have turned to cheaper labor overseas. Maximizing profits and forcing the consumers to brunt the costs that come with the taxes of production. They have been creating false scarcities of older, higher quality plushies as well so they can slowly release them from their stock and further maximize profit margins for themselves as well as local business', taking advantage of the fierce market of plush collectors this state has to offer. They are taking out of the play books of the foreign practices and charging as much as they can for the poorest products and maximum profits. Who can blame them, as they are often short staffed.
We have to make plushies great again. Go back to quality assurance that matters. We can go back to making them in state from start to finish. Build new production facilities. Who is going to pay for it you ask? Paleto! Think about it! There's so much space and rich opportunity that is untapped within the county as a whole.
I have also noticed a surplus of plushies in some areas. With a plushie costing sometimes as much, if not more then a large amount of drugs, it seems many residents of the state are out of the loop. They think that there must be some sort of underground trade. Whispers of trades and codes only insiders would understand and know of. seems that the higher quality items of old are worth much more. Some seem to also think that the whole of the plushie trade is an elaborate way to launder money and make it appear more legal. Some people buying as many as 20 of some plushies.
At this time DoCL is still on their 'August' closure. We have reached out for a comment via the government website. As of this moment, we still haven't received a comment. Are DoCL dodging the difficult questions, or just really busy, without a comment, your guess is probably better than ours!
*Editorial Note: All of our Eustace the Hedgehog plushies are make right here in the good old US of A, unfortunately that means the quality isn't as highly matched against the talented craftsmen in China (ours are 'currently' only pocket sized) However this cute little bastard could be yours to take home today!
I mean I don't think there's been a quality drop per say, more like a variety increase. With more businesses trying their hand at selling plushies and other toys, there's a much broader spectrum of materials and styles used in everything produced to suit what those business owners desire. Zimports isn't just gonna casually cheap out on materials when there's no reason for them to, and so many of the collectibles around the state are quality controlled through Arcane's safety services anyways, so I don't see the big issue. If you're unhappy with the quality of the plushies you got for your own business, then take it up with either of them directly, otherwise you should be complaining to the…
Wait Zimports is using cheap materials?! They charge so much so why would they need to resort to cheeping out on that. I bet they are skimming off the top or something #BoycotZimports
The plushie prices have gotten too high! We work all day, sleep when we can, work endless hours just to afford food & plushies!? Maybe an apartment if you’re lucky. Savings is a fantasy
My name is Sheldon Clarke.
I have seen the truth of the Plushies. My friend, Ronald Thatcher, was kidnapped by them some time after they gained sentience on August 25th. I think they targeted him because we have been feeding the local cats batteries (to see if they get superpowers) and because the Plushies feel some sort of kinship with their flesh and blood cousins, the cats. I don't know where they have taken him, but I think I must be next. The cat project has been fruitless up until recently, but the other day I touched one and woke up unconscious, hours later. My wallet was gone too. I think the power of the cats and the power of the…
