During the Sandy Shores' Summer Sendoff, two rival stages were going at it in an attempt to draw in the biggest crowd. The mainstage, played by the official booked acts was upstaged by a impromptu performance from local DJ Thomas Delgado, playing at the 'A Sidebar and Tobacco' tent Delgado caused quite a stir stealing the limelight and dazzling crowds.
"the main stage was playing like mainly rap and stuff. But I figured it's a summer send off so we're kind of thinking dance tracks and all that things that are a little more dancey, a little more active." - Thomas Delgado
Delgado's success was short lived however, after a stint of approximately 30-40 minutes, security and event organisers shut down the fringe event, asking them to wait till the event was over to then take the stage and keep the party going. In response Delgado and his team proposed setting up a rival rave dubbed "The Real Rock Rave" on a nearby rock located outside of Sandy Shores airfield.
You can watch the interview with Thomas Delgado below!;
*Due to a wedding conflicting with Delgado's schedule 'The Real Rock Rave' never came to fruition.
On a serious note, all parties involved were very chill and everyone had their fun, the main stage got ridiculously busy as the event progressed and Thomas Delgado and his team enjoyed a wedding.
San Andreas Flight Authority (SAFA) the main organisers of the event were also very accommodating of Thomas Delgado's and our own antics at Useless News, you can check out the official press briefing attended by ourselves and Shout News here 'AIRFIELD RACE TRACKS?!'.
